Finding my zen...

As some of you may know, I tend to stress about things. And not stress in a good way, but in a way that makes me into a raving loon. At least on the inside. I try to keep it in, keep it to myself, but eventually it all breaks free.
So this summer I've focused on finding my zen. It's been quite the experience. For example, did you know that apparently I need to work out 5 days a week? Crazy talk, for sure. But it's really helped. I also need to take time to relax. This might be reading a book, or watching House Hunters. It might be baking, or cooking dinner.
Even with buying a condo, I've been remarkably stress free this summer. I love it!
Now, if only I can hold it together when school starts back up. What do you do to find your zen?

I realized...

how geeky I really am. I arrived home to discover my Kindle was finally delivered. My reaction? To rush in, wake the boy and show him.
I don't think he appreciated being woken up...but I sure appreciate my new toy.
So far I've only downloaded one book, mainly because I have so many physical ones left to read...but I'm not sure I can restrain myself for long. It's way too easy to buy books for this thing.
Eep! Maybe this wasn't such a good plan after all...

Visits, packing, and trips...oh my!

Last week one of my dearest friends from high school came to visit. She visits about once a year, so finding new and fun stuff to do is always a challenge. This time around we drove up to my aunt's cabin for a couple of days. It was so beautiful and so quiet up there. The best part? Lots of time to relax with good laughs.
She left the other day and now I've started packing up my books. I figure they are an easy place to start. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, because frankly I don't have the space to put the boxes...but I needed to make a dent. It's weird, sitting here next to a nearly empty boookcase.
And very soon I'll be off to Vegas for Girls' Weekend. NYC and A (of last week's visit) will join me in laughing my rear off for a few days.
Now if I can just stay focused enough on my revisions before I leave...
